For Genevieve. Hip hop hooray.

So, right now I'm sharing our monster chair with my dear, lovely friend Jjjjohn-vee-ehv. Actually, her name is Genevieve, but that's how I say her name. She calls me "E-Money". Genevieve comes up with the best nicknames for everyone that she likes. Abby is Abdominals and Sarah is Pollita. Nicknames for others are OP (short for Otter Pop), Crocodile Eyes (those last two are Stefani and Brent--they're engaged), Grandma, Rock 'n' Chop, Hamlet, Dustimus Maximus, Bandito Dan and Crackhead Juan and even more. Like, she doesn't call people by their names.

Also, Genevieve has one of the best vocabularies I know. I want her to come home and speak with all of my family (she's an English major--of course). Sometimes we talk about English stuff, and I don't feel as genius as she is, but she is wonderful and pretends not to notice :)

Genevieve also has freaking soft hands. She also has sort of Asian eyes (friends, Rosalind!) when she laughs...it's great! She is also wonderfully blunt and SO funny!! for example, her email address is "gfunkification@gmail.com". That's how she talks. It's great. And somehow she talks ebonics. (can you see the difference between how Genevieve and I speak? I can tell that it's late.)

Here's some pictures of why I love Genevieve.

Genevieve won The Speed Scrabble Tournament between the Elang/Linguistics vs. English Departments tournament----how cool is she? She said this was her crowning achievement in life. Besides being my friend.

This is, apparently, what Genevieve does in class when she's bored. Another reason why we're friends.

Paxton took this picture of Genevieve last spring when we put together a roommate-date-with-respective-boys-in-tow night. It was probably one of the most fun dates I have ever been on, and Genevieve and her fence climbing skills was one of the reasons why!!

Also, Genevieve is one of the nicest, most supportive people I know. She is always willing to listen to me in whatever problems I have, and promised me that she is going to write and perform a song for me (cause I had a bad day recently. That's what Genevieve does when her friends have bad days!) She is so loving and considerate and always conscious of how to make me feel better. I'm so grateful to have Jjjjohn-vee-ehv in my life! When I sang a song in church, she wrote me one of the nicest notes I have ever received and it meant to much to me. I still have it in my scriptures and it gave me more purpose and encouragement to sing more. I can be really shy about it, but Genevieve's kind and supportive words have encouraged me on. I never feel low or sad when Genevieve is around, because she always buoys me up. I hope that somehow I have had some positive effect on her, because she has done so much for me. I will always be grateful to her for her love and support and the way that she is always there for me! We've been neighbors for two years now and even managed to be roommates last spring semester---one of the greatest times of my life! So many happy memories! I love Genevieve, and I'm so happy for her to graduate and move on to something even bigger and better. We will miss her more than we could ever say, but I can't wait to hear about everything that she will accomplish and the people she will touch throughout her awesome life!!

For Mom

I always get excited to post on my blog when I have a new layout. So, here you are, Mom. Happy Spring.

I just signed up for Amazon Prime, and at first I thought this was the most wonderful thing I could have imagined. Then I realized this could be a problem when I had to painfully force myself to remove the $50.00 complete Harry Potter series from my cart. It already had the latter three books of the Thief series and The Scarlet Pimpernel in it (things I realized I desperately needed as soon as I signed up for the account), and I figured it is probably better to spend $50.00 (I just kept pressing the & button and couldn't figure out why it didn't look like a $...looks like it's time for me to catch up on the sleep I missed this week) on good groceries and save up for my next paycheck. Harry Potter will be there. And so will The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe/Prince Caspian DVDs and the pre-order of The Voyage of the Dawntreader and Tangled. (Don't think this is a premature birthday list. I've already created another document for that-although these items may end up on it if I need to flush it out a bit. I've always had such a hard time thinking of things I wanted for my birthday--somehow that didn't this year. I don't know what's come over me, but my eyes are bigger than my wallet, but I've thankfully realized it. Mostly. Good thing I'm getting paid at EFY this summer).

School has been thoroughly enjoyable this semester, especially since I've been in some education classes. I thought that after my block teaching class ended (that's a 16 hour in class time block) that I would have a lot more time, and then I started to get into the block education classes I added for the rest of the semester. SO MUCH WORK! It's not that bad of work, but it's SO MUCH. My friend called me to hang out tonight (and it's Friday night. Get this) and I said, "Um, I really have to do my homework," and she said, "I had a FEELING you would say that! I haven't seen you for a week!" Which makes me sound like I'm being really productive, but I know that I should have a WHOLE lot more done for how much hang out time I have been sacrificing for homework. But I don't really mind that much. Except for the fact that Hulu doesn't have White Collar to watch on my breaks.

I've also been reading aloud to my roommates. It's a great bit of relaxation for me, since I've always loved reading aloud and I rarely have time to read anything other than homework. We also don't have a TV anymore (well, we have one, but we haven't connected Abby's since Kailey took hers. I'm hoping that we never do) and the time that the TV used to be on is spent either watching set shows on Hulu, doing homework, or reading. It's great to have my roommates clamoring at me just like Abigail and Juliet for reading time--one of my neighbors upstairs will even text me "Story time?" around the late night time that we usually read. I read a few books to Abby last year, and she loved it, so when I bought a bunch of books at the bookstore a few weeks ago, she was expectantly excited. We just finished Crown Duel on Tuesday I think, and both Sarah and Abby (mostly Abby) were properly in love with Shevraeth by the end. Although it was pretty hard for me to read some of it without grinning. Anyway, it's been a lot of fun. I also have Rose Daughter and the Thief waiting in line (soon to be the whole series!)

Well, I need to get some work done and sent off for a group project, and then hopefully tackle the mess of dishes in our kitchen before Abby gets home from work--and maybe we'll start another book! Oops, she just came home!! so I need to get to work!

Revision of plans: We are doing the dishes, reading for an hour, and then going to bed. Then we're getting up early, and going to the temple! Then group project!

Sarah just came home from a friend's house, I took one look at her hair, and I said..."Was there a dance party?"

Just a snapshot of my life!
